Allie Foy Thornton was a half-sibling to Alfred. Zeny Alfred Foy was the biological son of Zennie Alan Foy and Elsie Littie Mueller. Zennie was divorced from his first wife who had abandoned him and their two children. Elsie was divorced from Roy Dewitt Barlow. They married in 1913 and became a blended family. In 1916 Zeny Alfred Foy was born. He was named for his father and his uncle, Alfred Miller. When Elsie passed away in 1918 from complications of the Spanish Flu Epidemic, Zennie gave the Barlow children and Alfred to the Miller family. The three Barlow children went to live with Alfred Miller and his wife and Zeny was taken in by Nettie (Homburg) and Alexander Parker. Nettie was the sister of Bertha Homburg Miller who had been the sister-in-law to Elsie. I have found no research where the Parker's actually adopted Zeny. I did find on FamilySearch.org that on the 12th day of March 1980, Zeny Alfred Foy legally changed his name to Zeny Alfred Parker. Source: Texas Birth Certificates, 1903-1935, Certificate No. 2941.
"A certified copy of said decree is filed in the Bureau of Vital Statistics, Texas Department of Health, under No. 24061. Filed: July 11, 1980.
