James K. Polk Tucker was born 1845 in Murray County, GA, son of Churchwell Branch Tucker and Lucy (Blakey) Tucker (Georgia 1860 census list James being 12 years old and in 1870 being 22 years old and married to his first wife Emma). James K. P. Tucker was married first to Emma E.L. Mauldin on September 16, 1866.

According to the 1870 census they had two children: Robert C. born 1868, Dora born 1870. Charles B. Tucker third child was born in 1872 . I am unable to find out what happen to James first wife Emma.

James K. P. Tucker left Murray County, GA and settled in Crowville, Franklin Parish, LA about 1874. James K. P. Tuckers second wife was Edna A. Killian they were married 21 December 1876 in Crowville, Franklin Parish, LA and had two children: Minnie born November 1881, Dennis born January 6, 1882. Edna died of typhoid fever in 1886 at the age of 24. James was married for the third time to Mary Jane Killian born in Franklin Parish, LA 1866, half-sister of Edna Killian, they were married on February 21, 1889.

According to the Franklin Sun Paper in Crowville, LA James sold property in 1882, 1886 and in 1889. James K. Polk Tucker died in November 1890 at age 42 after falling from a wagon on his way home from Crowville, Louisiana.

Note:
James Knox Polk Tucker is the son of Churchwell Branch Tucker and Rosemond Maude McKinney. They were married on July 11, 1823 according to North Carolina marriage records. Her death occurred on January 15, 1880 and she is buried in Spring Place, GA with her husband. He may have married a Lucy after the death of his wife, but his oldest daughter was also named Lucy. Rosemand is the sister of my 3rd great grandmother, Sarah Hodge McKinney.
