When Jesse B. Tucker was born in 1826 in Surry County, North Carolina, his father, Churchwell, was 21 and his mother, Rosamond, was 21. He was married three times and had three sons and one daughter. He had three brothers and six sisters. Jesse enlisted (August 8, 1861) in Company C, 4th Battalion Louisiana Infantry in Winnsboro. The 4th Battalion saw duty throughout the war in the Southwest, participating in the Battle of Chickamauga and action around Atlanta. Louisiana Confederate Soldiers, Confederate Research Sources, Volume 3 page 878 list Jesse B. Tucker, Corpl., Sergt. Co. C 4th Battn. La. Inf. enlisted Winnsboro, La. August 8, 1861. Present on rolls to February 1863. Apptd. from 1st Corpl., December 1, 1862, to 5th Sergt. On Hospital Register, abmitted to 1st Mississippi C.S.A Hospital, Jackson Miss., July 13, 1863. Sent to General Hospital, July 14, 186?.

3rd Wife: Elizabeth "Lizzie" Cooke marriage 15 June 1876

I believed Jesse died before the 1880 Census Franklin Parish, LA his third wife Elizabeth is listed age 28 widowed house keeper and daughter

Unable to find burial place. Other Tucker kin buried in Harris Cemetery and Ward Bend Cemetery.
Jesse B. Tucker was my 2nd great uncle.
