Mrs. Addie K. Mallory died peacefully, surrounded by family after a wonderful life’s journey of 105 years, on April 26, 2018. She was born August 7, 1912, in Blakely, Georgia, to William Jefferson and Sarah Hayes Kenney, and married the late Rubert C. Mallory of Jacksonville, Florida, on March 28, 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers Richard, Murrill, and Hoyt Kenney; her sisters Clara “Lizzie” Williams, Annette Chandler, Neta Thompson, Ethel Frith, and Maisie Kenney; and her grandson Billy Mallory. She is survived by her sons Carlton A. Mallory and his wife Dorcas, of Millwood, Virginia; John W. Mallory and his wife Martha, of Acworth, Georgia; her daughter Linda Lockwood of Jacksonville, Florida; her grandchildren Tim Lockwood and his wife Trudi, Kelly Summers and her husband Ellsworth, Heather Mallory and her husband Adam Sobsey, Stuart Mallory and his wife Meredith, Tony Mallory, and Diana Mallory; and her great-grandchildren Mallory and Miller Lockwood; Campbell, Harper, and Bo Summers, and Elizabeth and Alexander Mallory.A woman of deep and abiding faith, she was a member of the West Normandy Baptist Church, in Jacksonville, and attended the First Baptist Church, in Blakely, for many years. In addition, she was an active member of the Peter Early Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for over thirty years and a longtime, award-winning member of the Blakely Garden Club.This remarkable daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was admired and beloved by her family and friends, who were enriched and inspired daily by her example of a life well lived.A memorial service will be held at 1:30PM, Tuesday, May 1, at West Normandy Baptist Church; visitation to begin at 12:30PM. Internment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the West Normandy Baptist Church or the First Baptist Church in Blakely
