Kate Ethel YATES was born 27 JUL 1883 in Crawford Co., Indiana, and died 28 JUN 1969. She was buried in Floral Park, Indianapolis, IN. She was the daughter of 2. James Wilson YATES and 3. Mary Ellen OTT. She married Walter BANDY. He died 16 APR 1958. He was buried in Floral Park, Indianapolis, IN.

Recollection by his nephew, Jim Yates:

"Walter was a big, tall Irishman. I idolized him because he was a policeman. Once we went to visit them and I did my best to see him get off the streetcar and walk to the house. Of course it was awesome to me because he carried a real, loaded revolver, wore a uniform and badge! I still have an "Acme Thunderer" police whistle he gave me! He told me he used to use it when directing traffic but at the time (older now) was a guard at the airport."
