Allene Elam Privett, of Addison, entered into rest Sunday at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Allene was a 1953 graduate of Addison High School and went on to be a nurse. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Nesmith Community, from 5-8 pm with services on Wednesday at 12 pm. She will lie in state from 10:30-12 pm.

Allene is survived by her sons, Kerry Privett and his wife Kathryn, Ronnie Privett and his wife Melissa, Jeff Privett and his wife Belinda; daughter, Sharon Ward; brother, Hugo Elam; sister, Mervene Currie; sisters in law, Louise Elam and Marjorie Elam. She was "Granny" to 11 grandchildren, David Privett, Andrew Privett and his wife Casey, Brittney Thornton and her husband Anthony, Megan Johnson, Casey Summers and her husband Matthew, Ryan Privett and his wife Molly, Eli Privett, Tonya Sweeny and her husband John, Emily Berryhill and her husband Cameron, Katie Brandon, Alicia Dawson; 13 great- grandchildren, Mattie and Drake Johnson, Camden, Gabriel and Mackenna Privett, Kayson and Wynrie Thornton, Adylee and Kynlee Summers, Griffin, Grant, and Everly Berryhill and Jordan Ward Guise.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oral H. Privett; parents, William Nathaniel and Della Cansas Glover Elam; brothers, Jack and Ormond Elam,; son in law, Peter D. Ward; brother in law, Verbon Currie, and sister in law, Zula Mae Elam.
