ELLA BERNICE CORSE.

Ella Bermce Corse was born in Sandy Creek April 11, 1863, and died at her home in this village, April 29, 1897. Mrs Corse was the youngest daughter of the late John L. Nichols, and was married to F. Dudley Corse October 4, 1888.

Her life though brief, has been an active and useful one. She was a successful home maker. She recognized the fact that this was the sphere of woman's greatest usefulness, and a field worthy her best endeavor, and all who entered the home over which she presided were made to feel the warmth of her sympathy and friendly interest.

As a neighbor and member of society a place has been made vacant which cannot easily be filled. When she died all who knew her felt that they had lost a personal friend. Especially gifted by nature and endowed with graces of mind and character, she was well fitted for a life of usefulness. The Methodist church by her death has lost one of its most efficient workers.

She was especially devoted to the interests of her alma mater, the Sandy Creek High school. The students and alumni had in her a true friend and she was always interested in everything that concerned them or contributed to their happiness, prosperity and success.

Of her father's family two sisters, Mrs. W.B. Tifft and Mrs. W.H. Young of Syracuse, and a brother, Ambrose D. Nichols of Plover, Iowa, survive, and in the home which for eight happy years had been blessed by her presence her husband and infant son are left desolate.

The funeral services held at her late home Saturday afternoon were largely attended by her friends and neighbors. Beautiful floral tributes were given by the Christian Endeavor society, the Sunday school class
of which she was a member, the Chautauqua circle, Albany friends, the NEWS forces Syracuse university students, and other personal friends.
