Death of Mrs. Emanuel Benfer
Mifflinburg Telegraph
Recca, wife of Mr. Emanuel Benfer, died at their home in West Buffalo Twp., on Thursday of last week, Feb. 23, aged about 63 years. Mrs. Benfer was a daughter of the late John Hildebrand, dec'd, and sister of Mr. John H. Hildebrand, of West Buffalo. She was twice married - first to a Mr. Miller, with whom she had two children - John and Catherine. Some time after the death of Mr. Miller, she was united in marriage with Mr. Benfer, with whom she had one child, namely - Mrs. Stephen Roadarmel. She was a fine woman, an active, useful, christian lady, having many warm friends, who deeply sympathize with Mr. Benfer and other relatives in this their sore loss, but, happily, her eternal, everlasting gain. The funeral service was held on Sunday last in the church at Forest Hill, at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. V. T. Rue, the attendance of relatives and friends being large, much sympathy being expressed for the bereaved family. The pall bearers were John Bogenrief, Jas. Taylor, Alexander Dersham, David Yohn, Wm. Faust and Dan'l Jows. Interment in the cemetery at that place.
"Dust to its narrow house beneath!
Soul, to it's place on high!
They that have seen thy look inn death
No more may fear to die."
