Alfred Eric (sometimes written Erick) Hollander was born June 26, 1886 in Stockholm, Sweden.

In 1906, he immigrated to America.

He met Elin, another Swedish immigrant, and they fell in love. In June, 1911, Alfred Erick Hollander, 24, married Elin Signe Eufemia Johnson, 26, in Omaha, Nebraska.

In 1920 they were living at 4516 Izard Street in Omaha. The 1920 US Census lists:

Elin S. , 34, wife, b. SWE, imm. 1906
Vivian I., 7, daughter, b. NE
Katherine E., 5, daughter, b. NE

When World War II broke out, the older men were called to register for war. In 1942, Alfred Eric was 55, and living at 4319 Wakely St., Omaha. He was working for Metcalf Construction, a bridge company based in Hamilton, Kansas. At the time, he was working at the Mead ordnance plant, making munitions, in Saunders County, Nebraska.
