J. F. ALLEN DIES SUNDAY
Joseph Franklin Allen, 69, Broken Bow route, died at his home at 10 p.m. Sunday.
Born February 1, 1889, at Bismarck, Ark., he had resided in McCurtain county 30 years, moving from Fordyce, Ark. He was a sewing machine dealer and serviceman. He was a member of the Baptist church.
He is survived by his widow, three sons, Alvin Allen, Dallas; Vance Allen, Idabel, and Lawrence D. Allen, Nashville, Ark.; one daughter, Mrs. E. R. Flowers, Oklahoma City;
Six brothers, James E. Allen, Plainview, Tex., Clark C. Allen, Stanford, Tex., Walter and Charlie Allen, both of Bismarck, Ark.; W. L. Allen, Malvern, Ark., and Clarence Allen, Paducah, Ky.; eight sisters, Mrs. Lester Allen and Mrs. Chappie Ballard, both of Bismarck; Mrs. Jesse Brown, Arkadelphia, Ark.; Mrs. Alvin Mahan and Mrs. Watson Yancey, both of Little Rock, Ark.; Mrs. Nettie Sheets, Kilgore, Tex.; Mrs. Vertie Sheets, Arkadelphis, and Mrs. George Hampton, Saxon, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist church, with Bro. Troy May, officiating.
Arrangements and burial in the Denison cemetery were under direction of Coffey funeral home.
