Lois Norena Walden
1911 – 2005

Lois Norena Walden, 93, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away February 28, 2005. She died surrounded by her loved ones, after a long illness that she courageously fought.
Born September 29, 1911 in Lake City (Coal Creek), Tennessee, she later moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, with her family where she resided for 15 years, before moving with her family to Santa Monica, California, where she lived for 48 years.

Lois inherited a legacy that began with the settling of the Cumberland Mountains. She grew up as a coal miner's daughter in Eagan, Tennessee. At an early age, Lois started working at the Raincoat Factory to help support the family; after meeting and marrying her future husband Leo, a fellow employee, they moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where they were owner/operator for a moving and storage company. After moving to California, Lois began working as an electronic assembler for Lear Aircraft and Douglas Aircraft until 1974, when she became a full time homemaker.

Her parents, Dock James and Carolyn Goins Ridings, husband Leo A. Walden and her brothers Virgil, Boyd, Curtis, Claude, and sisters Laura Smith Leach and Beatrice Devour have preceded Lois in death. She leaves behind her; Sons Ronald of Simi Valley, Harold of Paramount, Jerry of Santa Monica, and a Daughter Bobbie Reichstein of Agoura Hills, CA., six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

A beautiful life that came to an end, Lois was well loved by her family and friends. In our hearts a memory will always be kept, of the one we loved, and will never forget.

A celebration and memorial of Lois' life will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, March 11, 2005 at First United Methodist Church, 1008 Eleventh St. Santa Monica, CA. 90403.
