Lonnie M. Stone, 82, of 4233 N. 44th Place, died Saturday at his home.
Mr. Stone was born in Fayetteville, N.C., and moved to Arizona in 1950. He was employed as a telegrapher for the Pennsylvania Railroad and attended the Morse College in Cincinnati.
He was a member of the Morse Telegraphers Club, Rameses Grotto, Royal Arch, York Rite Bodies No. 179, F&AM, and the Order of the Eastern Star in Cincinnati.
Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Paradise Chapel, 3934 E. Indian School Rd., with burial in Greenwood Memorial Park. Friends may call after 10 a.m. today.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew L. of St. Louis, Mo., and Clarence L. of Cincinnati; a daughter, Mrs. Vivian Smith of Phoenix, 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

His death certificate (as well as other records) indicates he was born in South Carolina and not North Carolina. His WWII registration card indicates he was born in Salem, South Carolina. The death certificate also indicates he was buried at Green Acres Memorial Park where his wife is also reportedly buried.
