NEALS OF BEDFORD COUNTY, VA. and FAMILY OF WALTER NEAL, SR. of LAWRENCE and GALLIA COUNTIES OHIO by Chester I. Miller-Copyright 1992
Library of Congress Catalog Number 92-71390

By 1858 he had moved into Guyan Twp. of Gallia County and got land. In 1860, John and Lucinda were in Guyan Twp. In 1863 he sold his land in Guyan Twp. and we find him living on Sandfork Creek in Walnut Twp. of Gallia County where the family remained and where John and Lucinda died.
Lucinda Miller, to whom John Neal was married, was the daughter of Isaac and Catherine (Rife) MIller. She was born in Greenbrier County of now West Virginia. She was my grandfather's aunt, so I have a double interest in this family as I am related to them in two ways.
Lucinda died in Walnut Twp. in Oct of 1886, and John died later in the same township on 14 Mar 1895. Gravestones have not been found for them, but since they lived on Sandfork, it is reasonable to believe they are buried at the Neal Cemetery at Mudsoc on that creek.
