Walter Neal (Jr.) was the son of Walter Neal and Winifred Wood. He married Deborah Arnot, daughter of Henry Arnot, Rev. War Soldier, on 10 April, 1804 in Monroe Co., Virginia.

Walter Neal, Jr. lived in Walnut Twp., Gallia Co., Ohio until after Deborah's death in 1843. He married Elizabeth Griffith Landthorn on 17 March, 1844, in Gallia Co., Ohio. Walter and Elizabeth lived in Harrison Twp., where Walter had bought another farm.

This humble obituary appeared in the GALLIPOLIS BULLETIN, 26 FEB. 1873:

"Mr. Walter Neal, one of the
oldest citizens of Harrison Town-
ship, died at his residence on Clay
Lick a few days since. He was
aged about 85 years".
