The remains of John Mellet were brought here from Superior, Wis., Wednesday morning and were interred in Sacred Heart cemetery. He died May 29 at St. Mary's Hospital, Superior, after an illness with bronchial pneumonia. His age was 69 years, 11 months and 19 days.
He was born in Belle Plaine, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Mellet, and grew to manhood here. He married Eliza Clark of Belle Plaine who survives him. He has resided at Superior for a great many years.
He leaves one brother, Martin Mellet of Belle Plaine, and one sister, Mrs. Nell Hannon of Superior, who brought her brother's remains to their last resting place in his old parish cemetery.
