IN MEMORIAM
At a regular, Communication of Concordia Lodge No. 50, A. F. M., the following preamble and resolutions were adopted:

Whereas, our worthy Brother Past Master Andrew Ramsay, departed this life on the 19th day of March, 1874, in the 60th year of his age; and whereas, it is deemed by his brethren of Concordia Lodge No. 50, A. F. M., fit and proper that they make some public acknowledgement of their appreciation of his character as a member of the craft. Therefore,

Resolved, That Concordia Lodge No. 50, A.. F. M., in the exercise of that broad charity which looks at the internal rather than to the external qualities of man, do acknowledge that Past Master Andrew Ramsay, was in his lifetime a true and worthy brother laborer of the craft, and though he differed from us in some things, he was ardent and sincere in his attachments, and when weighed in the balance of Truth and Justice was not found wanting.

Resolved, that he was sincerely attached to the principles and tenets of the order of Ancient Free Masonry, and while he did not ignore the proper use of the Gavel and the 24-inch Gauge, he had a high appreciation of the Level and the Plumb, and did not forget the Square and Compasses were implements of his profession.

Resolved, That we sympathize with his family in their bereavement.

Resolved, That the Lodge be draped in the emblems of mourning for thirty days, and that a page of the minute book of the Lodge be inscribed to his memory.

Resolved, That the secretary do furnish the family of the deceased with a copy of these resolutions, and that they be published in the Edgefield Advertiser.
