Garlan Baker, 86 years of Columbia, KY passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:36 AM at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky after several weeks illness. He was born January 25, 1932 in Adair County, Kentucky the son of the late: William Dewey and Iva May Keltner Baker he was preceded in death by these siblings, Thomas Baker, James Sonny Baker, Ruby Land, Lucille Sneed, Clara Adams, Geneva Yarberry, Bertha Marie Baker Survived by his wife: Doris Perkins Baker of Columbia, KY. Two daughters: One son: Two Brothers: One Sister: Three grandchildren. Five great grandchildren. Mr. Baker was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church, a retired welder for Fisher Body in Chicago, Illinois and a farmer. He was a member of the Green River Kruzers Car Club and enjoyed woodworking and storytelling. Funeral service: Thursday April 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home Clergy officiating: Rev. John Hatton Interment in the Haven Hill Cemetery The family request visiting after 4:00 PM on Wednesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
