Deacon Anderson Ross, age 81, of DeSoto, Georgia passed Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, 417 West 3rd Avenue, Albany, Georgia.



Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Jackson Grove Baptist Church, Cobb, Georgia.



Deacon Anderson Ross was born March 15, 1932 in Lee County Georgia to the late John and Della Jackson Ross. He was educated in the public school system of Lee County. He was preceded in death by seven siblings, Camilia Ross, Mandy Mae Harvey, John Ross, Jr., Eddie Ross, Sr., Della Ross, Jr., Lucy Felton, and Ida Ross.



He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and joined Jackson Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dock Champion. He has faithfully served on the Deacon Board Ministry for some forty years.



He met and married his one and only love Maple Robinson Nelson Ross on April 13, 1952 and to this union they were blessed with nine children. One daughter, Daisy Mae Ross, preceded him in death.



Deacon Ross was employed with various companies. He was employed with the Bailey Farm, the Nelson Farm, Desoto Peanut Gin and Cordele Sacko Lumber Company. He enjoyed fishing and he began his own fishing bate farm. He was known as the bate man from far and near. Deacon Ross loved his family and his church. He praised God daily for the both of them.



He leaves a legacy of golden memories to this beloved family which includes his eight children and their spouses, Earnest Nelson, Desoto, Georgia, Mary Morns (Evans), Americus, Georgia, Lucille Holley (Curtis, Sr.) Belleglade, Florida, Rosie Vance (Bobby, Sr.) Desoto, Georgia, Andrew Ross, Alexander, Virginia, Patricia Crawford (Duane, Sr.) Desoto, Georgia, Shirley Walton (Lee Sr.), Americus, Georgia, Curtis Ross, Alamo, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, NiKesha George (Christopher), Americus, Georgia, Curtis Holley, Jr., Latoya Holley and DeAndre Holley all of Belleglade, Florida, Shemekia Felton (Jonathan) Americus, Georgia, Bobby Vance, Jr., Americus Georgia, Nikki Crawford, Duane Crawford, Jr., and Myia Crawford all of Desoto, Georgia, Lee Walton, Jr., Albany, Georgia, JeRosski Walton, Fort Valley, Georgia and Deython Walton, Americus, Georgia; twelve great grandchildren and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
