Edward and family moved from Sandford, IN (south of New Goshen, Vigo Co, IN) in 1902 to Hallet, OK. Later bought farm in Skedee. Have listing of public sale of farm equipment and animals, dated February 2, 1900 at location 6 miles north of Hume, IL. Edward McClellan served one term as State Representative from Pawnee County.

A happy event of Sunday May, 26, was the family reunion, held at the Pawnee Lake, honoring Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Funkhouser, on their 56th wedding anniversary.
On the green wooded hillside, overlooking the lake and the beautiful new bath house, a long table was filled with good things to eat. Not the least of these was a huge turkey with fixin's and a big packer of ice-cream from the Pawnee Creamery together with salads, cakes, etc. The youngsters roasted wieners and marshmallows at a camp fire.
Around the table, were gathered 38 persons, including the 6 children of the couple, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The afternoon was spent in visiting, taking pitures and exploring the grounds. Those present, beside the honorees, were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Emery, of Parsons, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Turner of Gladewater, Texas; Mrs. Modeen Striker and son, Roy, of Osage, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Green, Shirley Joan, Barbara Lou and Patricia Lynn of Blackburn, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Welker, Norman Garrel and Peggy Lalene of Stillwater; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sackett and Mary Sue of Pawnee; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Greene; Mr. and Mrs. Funkhouser and Alvin; Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Funkhouser; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Funkhouser and Barbara Kaye and Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Funkhouser, Theda Rae, Leslie, Marilon and Sandra Sue; and Mr. and Mrs. Verd Funkhouser of Skedee.

Edward M. Funkhouser was born near Terre Haute, IN August 11, 1862, and passed to his heavenly reward January 14, 1942, at the age of 79. He was united in marriage to Ella McCleary on May 20, 1884.
To this union were born eight children, two of whom, Ross and Homer, preceded him in death.
The close relatives who remain to mourn his passing are: his widow, Mrs. Ella Funkhouser; three sons: Verd, Grover, and Lloyd of Skedee; three daughters: Mrs. Bonnie Emery, Parsons, KS, Mrs. Clede Sackett, Pawnee, and Mrs. Mary Turner, Oklahoma City; eighteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers: Raymond, Beatrice, Neb., Albert, Oneida, KS, and Cora, Afton, OK. Two sisters and one brother have preceded him in death.
In 1902 Mr. Funkhouser moved to OK. In 1907 he moved to the present home north of Skedee. He became a Christian in 1902. For many years, he was active as a Steward in the Skedee Methodist church and for 20 years was superintendent of the Sunday school. He was state representative from Pawnee county for one term. He was a devoted husband and an affectionate father. He was a tried and true friend. To know him was to love him.
Funeral services were conducted at the Skedee Methodist chruch January 15, 1942, by the pastor, Rev. William Howard Wheat, assisted by Rev. Bradshaw of Pawnee. Interment was made in the Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, OK.
