All is dark within our dwelling,
Lonely is our home today;
For the one we loved so dearly,
Has forever passed away.
Human hands have tried to save him,
Physicians were in vain,
Until Christ, the Chief, came to his relief,
And eased him of his pain.
He was so kind and gentle,
How can we give him up;
How can we still live on and drink
From such a better cup?
BY HIS BEREFT WIFE
