Dec. 5, 1894 - Last Thursday forenoon occurred the funeral, at the Grace Evangelical church, of Mrs. Michael, one of the oldest, if not the oldest person in this community, and relict of the late Wm. Michael (sic; should read Peter Michael - William was her son and she died at his home). She was born in Pennsylvania in 1801, and her age was 93 years and 11 days. Rev. Lundy preached from Rev. 20:12. Mrs. Michael lived a Christian life for a period of 76 years. She was the mother of 16 children, Alexander* and William Michael, Mrs. Solomon Bechtol (Beightol), Mrs. Peter Paul, and Mrs. Gabriel Sarber being her living children who reside in this community.
*(there was no Alexander. The writer probably mistook the name Eleck for a shortening of the name Alexander. Her son Elias went by the name of Eleck)
