Mary A. Smurda, 93, of Blacklick, OH, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away October 30, 2020 peacefully at her home. Mary was born Feb. 13, 1927 in Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Daniel B. and Betty (Hall) Morrison. Mary was a homemaker and was proud of her Irish heritage.
She was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Toronto, the CWC of the church and the Jenota Lodge 1 Catholic Slovak Union.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Smurda April 12, 2002, her son Daniel Smurda April 16, 2002, two brothers, Robert and Russell and 5 sisters, Mildred, Jean, Jerry, Maxine and Dorothy.
Surviving is her son, John M. Smurda of Toronto; her two daughters, Deborah and Michelle Smurda both of Blacklick, OH; two sisters, Pauline and Faye and her dear friend Goldia Smurda of Toronto; her four granddaughters, Tracy, Kelly, Jamie and Sarah and her 8 great-grandchildren.
A private family gathering of Mary's family will be held at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Burial will follow in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
