Gustave Podoll a former resident of this city, but of late years resided in Milwaukee, died suddenly at his home in that city, on Saturday last of apoplexy. Deceased was a native of Prussia and was born Sept. 12, 1841. He came to America in 1853, and first settled in Indiana. He returned to Germany in 1861 and served one year in the army when he returned and settled in Chicago. In 1866 he came to Cedarburg and was married to the late Catherine Adler, widow of Herman Adler, who died about fifteen years ago. He conducted a general store and photograph gallery, the property in which he conducted the business he still owns. He has been a resident of Milwaukee for the past twenty years and is survived by a widow and one son. The remains were brought here yesterday for burial on the family lot on the Cedarburg cemetery.
