George's birth date is unknown but may be approximately 1638. George was the son of Richard & Averina Lamphere of London and arrived in America prior to 1665, when his father's will mentioned that George was located in New England, and in Westerly by 1669 when he obtained land from John Clark (mentioned in a deed from 1721). The name of his wife is unknown, and her origins, although they had 9 children. The exact place of George's burial has to date, never been found.
