Gloria Lanelle (Jackson) Barding, 84, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018, at her home in Jefferson City.

She was born August 1, 1933, in Bastrop, Texas, the third child of the late Boyd Franklin and Lenora Esther (Evans) Jackson.

She graduated Thorndale High School in 1949 and went to work for the Texas State Comptrollers Office.

She married the late Ronald Gene Barding on March 1, 1951 in Austin, Texas where he was stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base.

She is survived by her oldest son, James Douglas Barding and his wife Nanette M. Barding of Jefferson City, three grandaughters, Dharma Lanelle Cantrell of San Antonio, Texas, Victoria Alexandra Chernova and Anna Marie Chernova of Chandler, Arizona, and two great-grandchildren, Lauren Cantrell and Sutton Cantrell of San Antonio, Texas.

In addition to her parents and spouse, she is preceded in death by her step-mother, Birdie Mae (Coleman) Jackson, her daughter, Lanelle Jackson Barding, her youngest son, Bryon David Barding, her sister, Carmen (Jackson) Potts, and her brother, James Robert Jackson.

A private family graveside service was held at Longview Cemetery on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. “Gogi”, will be missed by all who knew her.
