Services for James Robert "Robbie" Jackson, age 85 of Rockdale will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 21, 2015 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Dr. Gregory Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the Salty Cemetery.

James was born July 26, 1930 in Austin, Texas and was the son of Boyd F. and Lenora Esther (Evans) Jackson and was raised in the Salty Community. He was a graduate of Rockdale High School, A Veteran of the United States Air Force. He is a member of Murray Street Church of Christ and when he was able was active in his Church and served as an Elder. He loved to play golf, listen to classical music and was a Bee Keeper. He and Katie Gest were married on April 15, 1951 in Taylor, Texas. After he and his family settled back in Rockdale in 1970 he went to work at ALCOA as an electrician.

James was preceded in death by his sister, Carmen Potts and his parents. Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Katie Jackson of Rockdale. Sons, Terry Jackson of Rockdale and Mike Jackson of Lumberton, Texas. Daughter, Jo Ann Jackson - Yeager and husband Lee of Austin. Grandchildren, Megan Jackson and Jana Jackson. Great Grandchildren, Kaelyn Murray and Cooper Murray. Sister, Gloria Barding of Jefferson City, MO.
