Mrs. Mary Ruth Powell McGirt, 96, of Hallsboro, NC. died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. McGirt, born ion Columbus County, NC; was the daughter of the late John Olin Powell and Mariah Young Powell and the widow of Duncan "D.E." Enoch McGirt, Jr.
She was a member of Hallsboro United Methodist Church, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked for 30 years as a RN.
She is survived by a son, Curtis Powell McGirt of Hallsboro; daughters, Jeannie McGirt Arbegast of Ayden; and Karen McGirt Vannoy of Clear Water, FL; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
