Vera Olive Mason, 104, a resident from 1912-1965 died Friday, February 27, 1998 in Portland, Oregon. An avid gardener, she was a longtime member of the Smithville group of the Duluth Garden Flower Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; and a son, Donald. Survivors include her daughter, Janet Greenfield of Portland, Oregon; a son, Howard of Santa Cruz, California, six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Interment: in Park Hill Cemetery, Duluth, Minnesota.
