Mr. White was born in Philadelphia, Pa. to Ernest White and Angelene Nubold White, he was owner and self-employed truck driver. He was a veteran of World War II; his Military Occupational Specialty was Amphibian Truck Driver, Heavy; he performed lst and 2nd echelon repair and maintenance on trucks, qualifications Marksman 03 Rifle & Carbine 1st Class Gunner 30 Cal Mg, decorations and citations American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal, attended Leadership School. A member of the Chancel Choir at St. Stephen United Methodist Church with a voice that will be long remembered by those who loved him, a former member of the Trustee Board, a member of the Evangelism Committee and a member of the Southside Senior Citizens; all of these he served until his health failed.
Survivors include his wife Etta M. White of the home, Lt. David Johnson of Trevose, Pa., a sister, Marion Wells of Philadelphia, Pa.,; 3 nephews, Herman Wells of Yeadon, Pa., Charles Wells of Philadelphia, Pa, neighbors who live as a family, many in-laws, relatives and friends.
