SILAS GERMAN DIED SUNDAY AT SON'S HOME
FUNERAL SERVICES OF FORMER RESIDENT WILL BE HELD TUESDAY
Death summoned a widely known Erie county farmer and former resident of the vicinity of Bellevue when Silas German, 91, passed away Sunday morning at 7 o'clock in the home of his son, Bert German, at Birmingham. Mr. German had made his home with his son for about five years.
For more than a half century he was engaged in farming in Erie county and for many years resided on the Harpster farm, a few miles north of Bellevue, and also resided on a farm in the vicinity of Castalia for a number of years, being among the more prominent of the Erie county farmers in this vicinity.
An illness of three weeks preceded his death.
Surviving are five children, Scott German, of Groton township; Mrs. Robert Waldon, of Kenosha, Wis., Jay and Bert German, of Birmingham, and Mrs. A.I. Clemons, of Amherst. One son and two daughters preceded their father in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home of the son, Bert German, in Birmingham, Rev. S. E. LaFollette, pastor of the Bellevue Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in the Graves cemetery, near Castalia.
