He attended Rural schools, and graduated from Centerville High School. He was a member of the Zoar Methodist Church in Exline. Roger lived and worked on the farm south east of Exline, until he was drafted into the United States Army on June 4, 1957. He took night classes, and became an electric engineer, and worked there for over 20 years until his retirement. The couple spent their vacations traveling all over the south, to find somewhere they wanted to live, settling in Okeechobee County, Florida in 1984. Roger went to work for Scotty's Lumberyard and Ruth worked part time at a convenience store until she passed away on May 17, 1990. After Ruth passed away, Roger moved to Lake Placid, Florida, where he lived until his passing. Roger will be missed by all that loved him.
