Bernice June Grant, 83, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, died Thursday, April 3, 2008. A native of Orville, she was a long time resident of Mansfield and had resided as a respected friend at Westbrook Towers in Murfreesboro for the past thirteen years. Over her time in Tennessee, she faithfully played the piano for most all functions at the Westbrook Towers and the local senior center. She also served as the Chaplain for the Westbrook Towers, of which she was very proud. Bernice had worked with Mansfield General Hospital and Woodlawn Nursing Home during her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Mansfield and had attended the First Church of the Open Bible. During her life in Murfreesboro, Bernice attended River of Life Assembly of God Church. All who knew Bernice will miss the genuine goodness that she showed in all she did.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Mark Frazer; a son, Donald Eileen Grant all of Murfreesboro; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; four brothers, Rawlins Harmon of Florida, Eugene, Raymond and Gordon Harmon all of Mansfield; and two sisters, Elsie Hall of Mansfield and Iona Fannin of Newark. Preceding her in death were her husband, Edward Grant in 1958; her parents; her daughter, Joyce Elaine Ferguson; and her son, Edward Phillip Grant.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Walt Weaver. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
