Ms. Stone was born Tuesday, September 25, 1951 in Hopewell, Alabama. She was a lifelong resident of Cleburne County, a graduate of Ranburne High School Class of 1969, and a member of Freedom Baptist Church.
Mary Nell was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin "Shorty" and Luetta Benefield; four brothers, Melvin, Edward, Jerry and Marvin Dual Benefield; and two sisters, Nellie Lambert, and Retha Nolen.
Surviving are a daughter, Amanda Stone Vaughn of Muscadine, AL; and a granddaughter, Haylea Vaughn.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel located at 1467 Almon St. Heflin, Alabama 36264.
Interment will be in Antioch Methodist Cemetery, Heflin, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, February 26, 2018, at Dryden Funeral Home, 1467 Almon St., Heflin, Alabama.
