Betty passed away March 30, 2017 in Owasso. She was born on June 18, 1925 in Boswell, Oklahoma the daughter of Critten and Ida (Jones) Gardner. Betty grew up in Boswell and was a 1943 graduate of Boswell High School. She eventually moved to the Norman/ Oklahoma City area and raised her family in there. In the 1970s Betty moved to the Tulsa area and went back to school getting her Associates Degree and starting a second career at the Claremore Indian Hospital. Always active: in her retirement, and well into her eighties, she was delivering meals to shut-in individuals, many of whom were younger than she. Betty was an active member of the Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving family members include her two sons: Ronald Clinkenbeard and his wife, Mary of Oklahoma City, Vernon Clinkenbeard of Amarillo; grandchildren: Megan Clinkenbeard of Oklahoma City, Molly Allen of Tulsa, Shelly Willett of Canyon, TX and James Williams of Gastonia, NC; great-grandchildren: Zach Willett, Tiffany Willett; Bridgett Williams and Austin Williams; one sister: Lazona Anderson of Bonner Springs, KS; one brother: George Gardner of Tulsa; long-time family friend: Duffy McClain of Broken Arrow; and many other relatives and friends.
