Robert (Bob) Tews, 87, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away on January 8, 2015. Bob was born May 29, 1927 to John and Minnie Tews in Kennan, Wisconsin. He was one of seven children. He married Marjorie Ann Prouty on December 13, 1953 in Fort Riley, Kansas. They had three children. Bob entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and served in Korea. After a tour in Vietnam, he retired in 1968 in Fort Stewart, Georgia as a Lieutenant Colonel. He and Marjorie then moved to Loveland, Colorado where they made their home. Marjorie passed away in 1984. While living in Loveland, Bob attended Colorado State University and then worked for Flatiron Companies until he retired. He was an active member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church. He was also a member of The American Legion and Military Officers Association of America. Bob met Eleanor Copeland, of Vancouver, WA, while vacationing in Mazatlan, Mexico. They were married on September 4, 1993 and made their home in Vancouver. They were avid travelers and visited countries all over the world including Africa and China. They were also fond of their many trips to Mazatlan and Palm Springs where they loved to play golf. Bob is survived by his wife Eleanor Tews, son Bob D. Tews (Carla) of Fort Collins, son Greg Tews (partner Terry) of Greeley, and daughter Helen Vedovelli (Jeff) of Castle Rock. He is also survived by two grandsons, David Tews of Chicago, IL and Brett Tews of Fort Collins. Bob was very proud of all his children and grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Interment and Memorial Services will be held in the spring with an announcement by Resthaven Funeral Home.
