Jesse and Catherine lost 7 children, either at an early age or they died at birth. Veda Tassey had told me that she remembered her Aunt Daisy Bolinger Hooper, decorating the graves of these 7 children, which are marked only with fieldstones. Several people have pointed out these graves to me, and most of them agree that they are graves # 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43,. Since there was a set of twins involved, it is believed that they are buried in the same grave, which would account for 6 stones. However, some people believe at one time there were 7 stones, so perhaps one has been lost over the years.
