Born April 19, 1932 in Cliffside, Son of the late assie Royster Humphries (1909–1985) and Pauline Addington Humphries (1911–2008); husband of the late Ramona Wallace Humphries (1934–2011) for over fifty years.
Retired from Duke Power Company and served in the Navy during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Barry Humphries (Jolaine); brother, Benjamin Almerine Humphries (1929–2022); one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by a brother, Max Eugene Humphries (1936–2006); and a sister, Patricia Humphries Abernethy (1938–2011).
The family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery, Forest City, NC with Rev. Robert Hodgens officiating; military honors were provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
Donations were made to Alzheimer's Foundation, Washington, DC.
