Lynnel Dasher, 88, of Valdosta, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2018. He was born in Valdosta on December 1, 1929, sharing the same birthday with his beloved brother, C.W. Dasher. Lynnel was the son of Mollie Lee Copeland Dasher and Caulie William Dasher, Sr.
He served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force traveling the world with his family while serving his country. He had multiple civilian careers after his retirement from the military but none so important as his service to his country. While Lynnel was not known for being overly talkative, he had many other interests starting at a young age, which he was always happy to share. A love of cars, photography that allowed him to capture his military travels and many road trips, his love of woodworking and the natural beauty of wood, and the road trips and camping, which he was known for. Lynnel was always willing to lend a hand and go the extra mile for those in need. Our hearts will miss him and never be the same.
Lynnel is survived by his four daughters, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister of Valdosta. He is predeceased by his parents, four brothers, one sister and a grandson, Jason Tavernier.
The funeral for Mr. Dasher will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. John Klimko and Mr. Shane Copeland will officiate. Burial will follow at Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday morning from 10 until 11 a.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Disabled American Veterans at DAV.org or to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org. Condolences may be conveyed to the family on the obituary page of www.mclanecares.com
