A Celebration of Life Service for Melvin Rogers, 86, of Lubbock will be held at 1 p.m. April 2, 2007, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, with Rev. Shon Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Arthur Melvin Rogers was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Crandall, to the late Willie Upton and Ida (Perry) Rogers. He married the love of his life, Ara Florence Bowman, June 3, 1944 in Athens, Texas. Melvin was employed at Time DC Motor freight for 31 years before his retirement at the age of 57. After his retirement, Melvin enjoyed a good game of golf and restoring automobiles.

He loved his family and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish Melvin's memory are his wife, Ara of Lubbock; two sons, T.R. Rogers and wife Bert of Lubbock and Tony Rogers and wife Angie of Lubbock; two daughters, Manett Fann of Ft Worth and Deborah Jones and husband Charlie of Albuquerque, N.M.; two granddaughters; two grandsons; three great grandsons; and two sisters, Fay Ford of Terrell and Joyce Tidwell of Ft. Worth.

Memorials may be made to Redbud Baptist Church 801 Slide Rd Lubbock, TX 79416.
