June Tenney Davis, 96, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas

June was born in Shreveport, La. to Howard A. and Fanny Sanderson Tenney. The family moved to Houston, Texas, where June attended Rice University and graduated from the University of Houston in 1941 with a degree in English and Drama.

She and Harry met and married in Houston, Texas in 1941 and moved to Harlingen, Texas in 1949 where they founded Valley Solvent Company, Inc. in 1952. June was active in community theatre in the Rio Grande Valley and she was an active member of St. Albans Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry in 1972; a daughter, Susan Green; and her brother, Howard A. Tenney, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Dona Lee Bates and her husband, Edwin, of Burton; sons, Harry Gilbert Davis, III and his wife, Beth, of Hewitt, and William A. "Bill" Davis and his wife, Peggy, of Rockport; grandchildren: Bradley Bates, Danny Bates, Julie (Bates) Coskey, Valerie (Bates) Clayton, Michael Green, Danielle (Davis) Page, Adrienne (Davis) Hare, Jon Davis, Dustin Burke, and Shelly Burke; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
