SWEETWATER -- Dixie Watlington, age 60, of Abilene, Texas and formerly of Sweetwater and Colorado City, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2007.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007 in the Roscoe Cemetery with the Reverend Cody Cochran officiating. Services are entrusted to the care and direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater, 401 E. Third Street.

Dixie was born on September 26, 1946 in Roscoe, Texas. She lived in Colorado City for many years before moving to Sweetwater in 1995. She lived in Sweetwater until moving to Abilene in 2005. She worked at the Department of Public Safety as a Drivers License Clerk for 22 years. She loved gardening, scrap booking, and sewing. She also loved spending time with her granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Dorothy Smith Hendricks.

She is survived by: three sons, Ty Watlington and wife, Porsche of Abilene, Texas, Heath Watlington and wife, Rosemary of Abilene, Texas and Joe Watlington and fiancée' Sina of Abilene, Texas; two granddaughters, Jaiden Watlington and Keylee Watlington; and a sister, Joyce Hutchings and husband, Les of Gun Barrel City, Texas.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Tom Johnson, Floyd Sanders, Donnie Rannefeld, Clifford Jones, Larry Don Watlington, Gene Bartlett, Sonny Gardner and Glenn Barton.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
