Funeral service for Carlene Delores Gravlee age 85, of Chattanooga, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Chattanooga. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Gravlee passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018, at her home in Chattanooga.
Carlene Delores (Elliott) Gravlee was born October 13, 1932, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Carl and Cecile (Weir) Elliott. She attended Leedey Elementary, later transferring and graduating from Clinton High School in 1950. On March 19, 1950, she and Gerald D. Gravlee were united in marriage at Clinton, Oklahoma. Carlene was well known for her creative and artistic abilities. An artist at heart, who loved to paint landscapes. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent cook who enjoyed sharing her Christmas Candy with family and friends. Carlene’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a longtime and faithful member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Gravlee of the home; one daughter, Connie Jensen and her husband Buzz of Norman, Oklahoma; one son, Jerry Gravlee and his wife Carol of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Larry Dodson of Yukon, Oklahoma; three sisters-in-law, Eva Elliott of Clinton, Oklahoma, Dorothy Elliott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Ginger Schreiner of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Chris Jensen and his wife Kellie, Lisa Edge and her husband Josh, Devin Inhofe and her husband Bow, Brett Holding and his wife Tonya and Heather Steeley and her husband Dustin; eleven great-grandchildren, Blake, Lauren and Sarah Jensen, Luke and Cole Edge, Brodie and Bryce Inhofe, Alex, Jake and Will Holding and Brystol Steeley; an a special caregiver, Selina Richardson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Cecile Elliott; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Granny Gravlee; and two brothers, Bobby and Jack Elliott.
