Mrs. Arlene Strickland Halyard of Marietta, GA, formally of Mount Airy, NC. Was called to her heavenly home on May 30, 2017 in GA. She was born to Rev. James Strickland of Mount Airy, NC, and the late Jennie Bell Strickland. She is survived her husband Scott Halyard, two children Cherie Lynette Halyard, and Scott Craig Halyard IV (spouse Kelli)six sisters and three brothers: James Alfred Strickland (deceased); Wilna Wilkerson (spouse Garnell); Lawrence Samuel Strickland; Dr. Ora Lea Strickland; Myranda Strickland; Eric D. Strickland (spouse Paula); Marcia Strickland Parks; Dr. Phyllis Strickland Williams (spouse Daryl), and Sedalia Strickland-Horton (spouse Jackie). Funeral services will be conducted on June 7, 2017 at Chestnut Ridge Progressive Primitive Baptist Church, 12noon Elder Steve Flippen will be the eulogist and burial will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the family service. Spencer Funeral Directors are in charge of all service.
