ROBERT F. ALBRECHT
February 11, 1948 - January 27, 2018

Robert “Bob” Frederick Albrecht, 69, of Crosby passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

An avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener, Bob had a profound passion for improving and preserving the land. He was an elected official within several groups including the Crow Wing County Soil & Water Conservation District since 1989, acting as the Director of North Central Area 8 in recent years and was a member of the MN Darkhouse and Angling Association. Bob also maintained other positions and hobbies in AmVets, his church, and especially in his kitchen.

Bob graduated from Brainerd High School in 1966 and left to serve his country in the United States Air Force. When he returned from the Vietnam War, he graduated from Saint Cloud State University and became a successful insurance salesman. Bob married his first love, Marcia (Martinson), in 1970. They created a beautiful family together, but she sadly passed in 2007 leaving behind two sons, a daughter and 10 grandchildren. Bob found love again in his wife Cindy (Archambault), marrying in 2010, with whom he shared many adventures from coast to coast, making many friends and memories along the way.

Bob’s motto was, “Do the right thing ‘cause it’s the right thing to do.” His family and friends will do their best to do right by him and live in his example. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Margaret Albrecht, and his first wife, Marcia. Bob is survived by his wife Cindy, his children Matthew (Lacey), Hans (Emily), Christy, Sheila (Richard), Jeenah (Jared), his grandchildren Anthony, Makenzie (Mike), Hayley, Walker, Holly, Ellie, Bella, Cece, Parker and Charlotte, his siblings Linda Hamilton (Doug), Coralee Cronin (Vern), and Chuck Albrecht (Debra), his many nieces and nephews—and his many, many friends.

Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 beginning with a visitation at 9 am and service at 11 am with lunch to follow. A burial service with military honors will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
