Born in Augusta, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Francesco and Domenica Bordonaro and came to the United States in 1914. He served in the Italian Army as a corporal during World War I and was a prisoner in a German Concentration camp for three years. He was a member of Sons of Italy.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Nersino Bordonaro; two daughters, Mrs. Mima Bella of Teaneck, N.J. and Mrs. Nellie Walvo of Owego; four sons, Frank of Rochester, Domenic of Freeville, Anthony of Slaterville Springs and Louis Bordonaro of Manhattan, Kan.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
