Lennox passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 20, 2018 of causes incident to age.

Lennox was born November 28, 1926 to William Lennox Adamson and Laura Jane Rawson in Carey, Idaho, a small rural community near Sun Valley. She was the youngest of eight children, four siblings and four cousins all raised by her parents. Her father, an Idaho statesman and LDS Church leader, and her mother, also a dedicated church and civic leader, instilled in their large family the importance of love for others, service and self-reliance. At an early age she showed uncommon musical talent. Music became her life. By age eight, she was accompanying church services.

Lennox had many fond and cherished memories of the simplicity of small town life. The family ran the Mercantile, the hub of the town. They tended sheep and had gardens and orchards. At age sixteen, her musical talents and desire for opportunity took her to Salt Lake to begin college during the war in 1942. Throughout her lifetime as a teacher, she mentored piano students. She performed with many artists throughout the Salt Lake Valley and received a variety of honorary awards.

After graduating from the U. of U. and while teaching seventh grade at Uinta, she met Reed Larson, a handsome member of the United States Navy Dental Corps, just returned from WWII on Guam. They shared the same Idaho roots and fell in love. In 1948, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple, with a reception at the Chi Omega house with many who became lifelong friends. The next thirty-plus years, she raised four children in homes on Logan Avenue and Chandler Drive and over time she became a professor of music at the U. of U.

Fifty-two years of marriage included exotic travels. Examples included trekking with machete through Mayan and Amazon jungles. They shared each others' professional activities and their joint love of travel. Affiliations included bridge clubs, Desert Island Country Club, Town Club, Salt Lake Country Club, Great Minds Book Club, Dinner Set, and they supported many arts, civic, university, and professional organizations.

Lennox and Reed left a lasting legacy for the family as they built a haven on the shores of Bear Lake creating memories for extended family that has endured for sixty years. She was each of her grandchildren's greatest supporters.
In later years, they enjoyed spending winter in Rancho Mirage, California. Reed passed away in 2000, and in 2005 Lennox met and married Bill Deem in Palm Springs. His kind, gentle nature was good for her. They enjoyed thirteen wonderful years together traveling the west, visiting extended families, and enjoying friends. She has lived a full and abundant life.

Lennox is survived by Bill Deem; four children, William (Robin), Brent (Mary), Ann DeMill, and Eric (Lori); seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; Steve (Jill) Deem; John Deem; and two grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Reed, parents, and all siblings and cousins.

Thank you to caregivers at Sunrise Sr. Living and Jayne Delon.
