Jean Combest Bennett Lent, 73, died peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018, at her home in East Jordan.
She was born on March 9, 1944, in Charlevoix, the daughter of Everett, Sr. and Yvonne (McWatters) Combest. She grew up in East Jordan and graduated from East Jordan High School in 1962.
Jean married Glen Bennett in 1961. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1977.
On August 2, 1978, in East Jordan, she married Charles "Red" Lent, Sr. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2015.
She had worked many years as a floral designer at the Jordan Valley Greenhouse. Jean had also worked at Mt. Clements, now known as Dura, in East Jordan and Our Place restaurant in East Jordan.
Jean loved shopping, especially on QVC and doing crafts.
She is survived by one son, Daniel (Melanie) Bennett of East Jordan; two daughters, Glenda Jean (Chad) Brintnell of McBain and Theresa (Chad) Boblenz of Findlay, Ohio; and step-son Richard Lent of Charlevoix; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Crain of East Jordan, Linda (Alvin) Merrill of East Jordan and Marilyn Williams of East Jordan; and one brother, Everett Combest, Jr. of East Jordan; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Beatrice Russell.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lighthouse Missionary Church, 7874 Rogers Road, East Jordan. Rev. James L. Jordan will officiate. The family will receive friends at church from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Friday.
Memorials may be given to Lighthouse Missionary Church. Arrangements were handled by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.
