Raleigh, NC Mrs. Alma Doris Hope Strickland, 84, of Raleigh, formerly of Clinton, passed away Saturday, January 20, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. Visitation with the family will be held at 1-2 PM, Wednesday January 24, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 2 PM, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. E.C. Mattocks officiating. Interment will follow in the Plainview Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Alma, a native of Sampson Co., was the daughter of the late Franklin Deleon Hope and Athea Ester Shipp Hope and was the wife of the late Paul Strickland. She was also preceded in death by siblings Carl, Robert, Willard, W.T., Victor Hope, and a daughter-in-law Terria Strickland. Alma was a Recreation Therapist at Dorthea Dix, and was very hardworking lady who loved to cook and became a grandmother to many. She was a member of Plainview Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Alma is survived by: two sons, Ronnie Strickland of Garner, and Donnie Strickland and wife Debbie of Youngsville; brothers and sister: Perry Hope, Gracie Bowman, and Billy Hope, three grandchildren: Amber Dabrowski, Brittany Strickland, and Michelle Barnard, four great-grandchildren: Emmett Dabrowski, Isasc Dabrowski, Ava Barnard, and Jack Barnard. Memorials may be made to Plain View Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 1261 Clinton, NC 28329.
