Florence Irene Allen, 90, of Anderson, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018. Burial will be at Bryan City Cemetery.
Florence was born in Caldwell, Texas on September 25, 1927, to Edward and Betty (Schultz) Lehde. The youngest, Florence enjoyed growing up with her older sisters Ruby and Edna. She graduated from Caldwell High School. Florence married Milton S. “Pete” Allen of College Station on September 2, 1950, in College Station. They were blessed with over 62 years of marriage before his passing in 2012. The pair had two children, Sharon Blaugrund of College Station and Ronnie Allen, who passed away in 2008. Florence’s greatest joy came from being a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. For the past forty years, Florence lived on her ranch in Anderson, Texas where she and Pete had retired. Florence was a longtime member of Carlos Missionary Baptist Church in Carlos, Texas. In her spare time, she enjoyed bird-watching, playing dominoes, and following the various college and professional football teams of Texas.
Florence was preceded in death by her dear husband Pete, her son Ronnie, and grandson Marcus Allen.
She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Jeff Blaugrund of College Station, her grandson Matthew Allen and his wife Debbie of Copperas Cove, her grandson Brian Blaugrund and his wife Tess of Memphis, Tennessee, her grandson Kevin Blaugrund and his wife Kristi of Redwood City, California, and their daughter (her great-granddaughter) Abby Blaugrund.
