Milton Sherwood "Pete" Allen, 90, of Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2012, from at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Hillier Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Andrews, officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.

Pete was born in Anderson, Texas, to the late George Leonard and Nina (Barker) Allen. He graduated from A&M Consolidated High School and also From Texas A&M University. He worked his entire career for the same company before retiring from Verizon in 1979. On September 2, 1950, he married Florence.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a B-29 Bomber Flight Crew member. He was an active member of Carlos Missionary Baptist Church for 34 years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Allen; and a grandson, Marcus Allen, both in 2008.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Florence, of Anderson; daughter, Sharon Blaugrund and her husband, Jeff, of College Station; and three grandchildren.
